Green-Wood Cemetery- Resa Sunshine

One of the less visited features of Brooklyn, Green-wood Cemetery is one of the jewels of the city. A graveyard yes, but also a public park that inspired the designs of both Central Park and Prospect Park. You will find many birds and turtles here, including monk parakeets who nest in the famous gothic entryway.

Visit the entryway to pick up a map or wander around aimlessly.  Many well known New Yorkers are buried here, from Leonard Bernstein to Henry Ward Beecher. Centuries old mausoleums can be found throughout the cemetery.
